In Service Since 1929

A post built by veterans, for veterans, in the heart of Buckeye.

Post 53 was chartered in 1929 and named for Louis B. Hazelton, the first young man from Buckeye killed in World War I, alongside fellow veteran Butler. Members established the Louis B. Hazelton Memorial Cemetery in 1938 - still cared for by the City of Buckeye today.

Today our 125+ members continue that work through Auxiliary Unit #53, the Sons of the American Legion, Legion Riders Post 53, the American Legion Baseball Buckeye Aces, and the Buckeye Community Veterans Service Center.
